Michael Grossman & Eric Popovich

Eric and Michael met in 2021 and they became instant friends. They have played in many Wisconsin PGA events together, their favorite event is the WPGA Las Vegas Pro Am, and this is where they began talking about the business and sharing ideas and  working on their craft.

Eric and Michael always find time to help each other out when in need. Eric and Michael were elected into the PGA in together, this was a partnership that was meant to be. They both have great strengths and they both love growing the game of golf. Performance Golf Academy truly embodies everything they stand for. Growing the game of golf through juniors and adults. Both golfers have great course management and use those skills in business and teaching their students to get better each time they go to the range or golf course.

Michael Grossman

Michael Grossman, PGA is from Mequon Wisconsin and lives with his family in southeastern Wisconsin. He played high school golf at Homestead and won several awards including the Highlander award. He was in the national honor Society and he won academic All-State awards. Michael was a three time letter winner and won several high school tournaments, including regionals twice and the black wolf run invitational.

Michael’s amateur career before college was very successful. He qualified for the junior masters and took his competition to the semi finals and qualified for the state Junior amateur several years in a row. He received a scholarship to play golf at Bradley University.

Michael had an illustrious amateur career qualifying for the Wisconsin state amateur and state match play several times. Michael turned professional in 2020 and has always loved learning about the golf swing and the short game. Michael is a PGA Class A Professional and was elected November 2025

He keeps honing his knowledge through reading books and watching videos. Michael has used the knowledge that he obtained from local renowned professionals Carl Unis and Mark Hansen. He also uses theories from Ben Hogan‘s five lessons.

Michael really likes to focus on short game and the mental game. He uses flight scope and will use video from SwingProfile to help you obtain the quality golf swing, that each student owns! After every lesson he is in contact with you with homework, drills, and sends you all your feedback through texting or email.

You will receive videos taken at your lesson with swing thoughts and notes to keep improving. Michael loves playing in the Wisconsin PGA tournaments throughout the summer and also likes to help coach his 2 son’s baseball and teach them golf as well. He looks forward to building a very good relationship with all his students.

Eric Popovich

A native of Madison, Eric is a PGA professional and has been in the business for over 34 years. His passion and dedication to becoming a PGA professional has been recognized not only locally but nationally from articles written but also from the President of the PGA Don Rea Jr.

Serving time as the Head Golf Professional at Sun Prairie golf course and Old Hickory in Beaver Dam, Eric is also the boys golf coach for the Beaver Dam high school. Eric’s primary focus is teaching. Having had very successful junior clinics, many of Eric’s students have gone on to play high level high school, in state tournaments and have had success in college golf.

With strong ties and relationships built with PGA Headquarters in Frisco, TX, Eric continues to build on his teaching skills to make sure all clients and students are getting the best golf instruction and knowledge possible.

Eric currently lives in Madison with his wife Michelle and 3 kids, Madelyn, Jack and Max. In his spare time, Eric loves spending time with his family and 3 dogs and enjoys a friendly golf match wherever he can find one.
